Our process

Board Dynamics’ mediation services are voluntary, flexible and totally confidential. The goal is to help parties resolve their dispute by mutual agreement.

During the mediation process, either Henri Eliot or Jane Plowman (our mediators) work closely with the parties to identify and exchange information about the issues causing the dispute, to engage in productive debate and strategic analysis of those issues, and to negotiate a settlement. This is done through a combination of joint and private meetings throughout the process.

Preparation is essential. We ask the parties to the mediations to provide us with background information about the dispute. The mediator also conducts pre-mediation meetings, usually by videoconference or phone.  By taking the time to learn about the nuances of the dispute, we can provide a flexible mediation process that maximises the chances of a successful outcome.

Board Dynamics charges a fixed fee per day of mediation, plus travel expenses from Auckland.  The fee includes all preparation.
